Former Henckels CEO Pfitzenreiter Remembered As Man Of Integrity

Former CEO of Zwilling J.A. Henckels, Karl-Heinz Pfitzenreiter, was remembered by colleagues as a man who lived with integrity and showed loyalty and consistency in his actions both at work and in his private life. Pfitzenreiter passed away unexpectedly last month in his Sarasota, FL, home.

“He left an indelible mark on this company. His passion for work and life will be remembered by all who knew him.” said John Henkel CFO of Zwilling JA Henckels.

Pfitzenreiter began his career at Zwilling AG in Germany in 1982 as the director/marketing. In 1987 he was made president and CEO of Zwilling U.S. Under his 20 plus years of leadership Zwilling U.S. sales grew by 635%, and saw the introduction of such iconic products as Henckels Four Star and Twin Cuisine cutlery lines.

Pfitzenreiter also served on the board of directors for the International Housewares Association as well as Tweezerman. Phil Brandl, president of the IHA, said,“Karl was always lively and spirited and a great contributor to the IHA Board of Directors…he will be missed.”

Pfitzenreiter is survived by his wife Lais Pfitzenreiter, his daughter Katrin Pfitzenreiter, and his sisters Jutta Schulz and Maria Walter in Germany. He was 65 years old.
