Groovystuff Repurposed Materials Support Students At High Point

For the Fall High Point Market, Groovystuff has two new product additions lined up. The company is fortifying its Moonshine Collection as it regards the Hourglass for more opportunity. The company also plans to unveil Auburn University student design creations at its Suites at Market Square showroom.

In response to reaction to the reclaimed steel drum products developed by the company’s designer Chris Bruning, Groovystuff will add to existing product lines by introducing the Moonshine Side Chair and the Hourglass Side Table. Developed as fun but functional furnishings, the products are colorful and appropriate for indoor and outdoor use.

In addition to the introductions, Groovystuff will feature 18 Auburn University student product designers in its University Hall of Innovation & Job Creation and Groovystuff by Design Challenge. The programs, established to nurture home furnishings design talent in partnership with leading colleges and universities in the United States will sponsor a review of product prototypes by High Point Market professionals. They will provide feedback on designs created by the Fall 2013 Auburn University Industrial Design Class. Each student participant will display a 20 inch by 30 inch product board, quarter-inch scale model and 42-inch tall pedestal for items subject to a popular vote at market. The winning student designer will receive a cash prize and see the winning design produced for 2014.
