Nearly 400 new exhibitors, representing a wide range of home and lifestyle product categories, will debut at NY Now, the Market for Home + Lifestyle (formerly NYIGF), February 1-6, 2014, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94. The newcomers will be among some 2,800 total exhibiting companies expected to participate in the semi-annual market.
“The winter market will offer buyers access not only to thousands of established brands, but also to hundreds of emerging and innovative new resources,” said Christian Falkenberg, NY Now director and GLM senior vice president. “NY Now attendees will find an infusion of new home and lifestyle resources within all four collections – Home, Lifestyle, Handmade and New! – and throughout all 10 sections– Accent on Design, Baby + Child, Handmade Designer Maker, Gift, Handmade Global Design, Home Furnishings + Textiles, Personal Accessories, Personal Care + Wellness and Tabletop + Gourmet Housewares.”
The NY Now Home collection, located on Level 3 of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, will showcase suppliers representing the full spectrum of home resources. Within the HOME Collection, notable newcomers include Aquaovo; Maryland China Company; and Trachy Sachs Ltd. in the Tabletop + Gourmet Housewares section; David Fussenegger Textil GmbH; Lisa Seago Fine Art; and PTMD in the Home Furnishings + Textiles section; and Finell; Pelle; and Tom Dixon within Accent on Design.
Both new, and returning, exhibitors are well represented on NYNOW365, the industry’s online destination for sourcing new, trending products, according to GLM. The site, which currently features nearly 50,000 products from more than 1,000 NY Now exhibitors, recently reached a significant milestone with generation of its 5,000th new business lead. To date, some 16,000 retailers have registered to use the site to find, collect and share product information.
Additional market highlights include a full slate of educational programming and after-hours events. Among program highlights are two forecasting sessions, presented by Tom Mirabile, contributing editor for Pantone View and SVP, Global Trend & Design for Lifetime Brands. On February 2, “Home + Lifestyle Forecast: Styles + Trends for 2014 + Beyond,” will preview styles and colors that will drive home and lifestyle spending through 2014 and beyond; and on February 3, “Consumer Preference Forecast: Myths & Realities About Today’s Shoppers,” will explore key consumer trends and insights into consumer spending habits, loyalty, concerns and aspirations driving spending; and components of today’s value equation.
Superlative product design and innovation among NY Now Lifestyle and NY Now Home exhibitors will be recognized with “Best New Product Awards” in two lifestyle categories: Baby+Child and Personal Care+Wellness; and two home categories: Gourmet Housewares and Home Textiles. Popular voting, from February 1 through 5, on RedClayDesign.com/nynow, will determine the overall winners of “Best of Home” and “Best of Lifestyle” awards.
The winter 2014 edition of NY Now will run Saturday, February 1, through Thursday, February 6, 2014, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Pier 94. NY Now’s four comprehensive collections will encompass 100,000 products in 400+ product categories. Approximately 35,000 attendees from all 50 states and more than 80 countries worldwide are expected.
