Target has announced that the company has adopted the Like2Buy program from visual marketing platform Curalate. The new program lets Instagram users buy products featured in photos from participating brands.
With more than 300,000 followers each, Target and Target Style Instagram accounts have garnered thousands of likes on a single Instagram. Like2Buy will give Target the chance to turn all those “likes” into actual purchases, the company said.
“We’re excited to be one of the first brands to offer guests the opportunity to shop our product on Instagram,” Dustee Jenkins, vp/public relations and social media at Target said. “We frequently get questions from our guests who are excited about something they see on the platform and want to know how to purchase it — this tool helps us address this need.”
To shop the posts with Like2Buy, users click on the Like2Buy link within the Target or Target Style Instagram profile. They then select the image with the product they wish to learn more about (and potentially purchase) which directs the user to the Target.com page with the featured product.
