Wayfair has renewed its global partnership with Habitat for Humanity International. The online home furnishings and housewares retailer today announced that it would continue the effort to help build and rehabilitate affordable homes.
With the announcement, Wayfair enters its third year as a Habitat partner and, so, will continue to provide financial support, volunteer mobilization and product donations to help reduce the incidence of poverty housing and homelessness in the United States, the company noted.
The Wayfair partnership has contributed more than $500,000 to Habitat for Humanity over the past two years, the company maintained. The retailer donates home furnishings and décor to Habitat ReStores resale outlets to help fund home builds around the U.S. To provide another measure of support, Wayfair raises funds and awareness for the charity by featuring a donation at checkout option on Wayfair.com, it pointed out. In addition, continuing a tradition of employee volunteerism, Wayfair’s member-only brand Joss & Main participated in a home build in the Boston area last week to help a local family in the company’s own backyard, the retailer related.
“At Wayfair, we believe everyone deserves a place to call home,” Niraj Shah, Wayfair CEO and co-founder, stated in announcing the partnership renewal. “We are proud to extend our partnership with Habitat for Humanity to help build safe and affordable homes.”
