Blues and muted pastels will have a predominant impact as consumers decorate their homes this summer, according to an expert panel assembled by Ace Hardware, the retailer stated. Top room color trends for summer 2013 feature coastal blues, fresh neutrals, muted pastels and warm grays, Ace elaborated.
To complement the room colors, the Ace design experts suggest:
- Adding fresh, colorful architectural graphic details in tune with the latest trends such as Greek keys and graphic accents in seasonal hues of blue, green or yellow.
- Introducing natural elements such as raffia, seagrass and limed wood to establish a relaxed, summertime feeling.
- Incorporating popular brass accents in accessories, art and pulls, potentially showcased with the addition of deep jewel tones like emerald and sapphire.
- Breaking furniture sets up throughout the home and adding personal, eclectic accessories to update room looks.
The Ace design expert panel members have more than 30 years of combined experience in interior design and color selection, Ace pointed out. It includes Katie Reynolds of Dallas, Nathan Fischer of Orange County, CA and Julie Richard of Boston. They made their color selections from the Clark+Kensington paint+primer palette, which, said Ace, is made up of on-trend seasonal hues. Clark+Kensington is a premium paint+primer in one line available exclusively at Ace Hardware, the company noted.
