The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers has named Robert McArver vp/policy and government relations. McArver will be responsible for directing and implementing AHAM’s legislative, regulatory, political and grassroots programs, AHAM stated.
As vp/policy and government relations, he will play a key role in advancing AHAM’s positions on public policy issues, the association noted.
Kevin Messner, who had held this role since 2008, will serve as AHAM’s vp/state government affairs, following his relocation to California, effective July 15.
“Rob has two decades of corporate and association experience, making him the right choice to lead the home appliance industry’s government affairs efforts. His issue advocacy, legislative and regulatory competencies will help advance AHAM’s mission of developing and implementing credible solutions for public policy,” said Joseph McGuire, AHAM President.
Prior to joining AHAM, McArver was vp/global public affairs for Celanese Corp., a chemical and specialty materials company, and prior to this, he directed the government relations efforts for the Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturers Association.
