At the Goldman Sachs 2013 Annual Global Retailing Conference, which was held on Sept. 11, Bill Simon, Walmart president and CEO, announced that the brand, along with other national brands, would be coming to the mass marketer for the first time in Q3 2013.
“We have always had strong basics and we continue to add exciting national brands to our assortment mix. In the third quarter you will see Calphalon and Russell Athletics as two new brands,” Simon said at the conference.
Cooking with Calphalon, which is also currently available in Kohl’s department stores and Meijer stores, covers the kitchen for Walmart at a range of pricepoints topping out at $349.00 for a Cooking with Calphalon Easy System 12-piece non-stick hard anodized cookware set.
An individual Cooking with Calphalon branded gadget on the Walmart website has a suggested retail price of $6.98. Other cookware sets in the assortment are priced from $149 for an enamel-coated aluminum 10-piece cookware set to $299 for a Cooking with Calphalon Easy System non-stick 10-piece cookware set.
Cooking with Calphalon non-stick-on-steel bakeware, features a toffee color and suggested retail prices of $15.98 for a brownie pan and $19.98 for a set of two cookie sheets.
At presstime, Cooking with Calphalon was not yet available in visited Walmart stores.
