Gibson Overseas, Inc. has formed a new partnership with Weight Watchers International, Inc. to create a complete line of tabletop and kitchenware, with healthier living as its primary focus and brand identity.
The line includes housewares— such as cookware with pour spouts to drain excess fat, and kitchen tools with portion control measurements— designed to make cooking healthy at home easy, the company said.
“For generations of Americans, the Weight Watchers brand has meant healthier choices,” said Sal Gabbay, Gibson CEO. “Their focus has always gone beyond weight loss to offer a complete view of healthier living.”
“Through the Weight Watchers Beyond the Scale program, we empower our members to live well while losing weight,” said Ryan Nathan, vp/products, licensing, and ecommerce, Weight Watchers. “We know our members spend a lot of time in their home cooking and experimenting with recipes, and by collaborating with Gibson to develop this great line of housewares, they will also now have Weight Watchers branded tools that make it easier than ever to maintain a healthier lifestyle.”
According to Gibson, the multi-category approach is intended to allow national retailers to tell a complete wellness story and help them grow market share.
“Society at large is not standing still in regards to their idea about healthier living,” said Tom Wien, Gibson’s director of marketing and licensing. “It’s important that our industry follows that example.”
