Las Vegas Market has announced that home décor and gift registration for the Summer 2013 Market has gained 3,500+ new-to-market buyers focused on the product categories from all 50 of the United States, show sponsor International Market Centers announced. The organization added that traffic on the Gift + Home web site is up 539% in the lead-up to the summer market versus a year ago.
Prior to the show, Las Vegas Market strengthened its Retail Relations team by adding 15 specialists charged with growing gift and home décor buyer attendance by enhancing awareness of the market. The specialists have contacted new buyers at a rate of 600 calls per day, or 3,000 calls per week, IMC stated.
“This extraordinary increase in registration and buyer interest is a result of our efforts to exponentially increase Las Vegas Market’s gift and home décor resources and extensive efforts to improve customer interactions through Las Vegas Market’s Retail Relations call center,” Dorothy Belshaw, IMC president of Gift & Home Décor, said. “Earlier this year, Las Vegas Market launched a comprehensive customer outreach initiative of unprecedented size and scope to attract new, qualified gift and home décor buyers, and we are delighted with such immediate, and impressive, results. The growth in gift and home décor resources will complement the existing furniture resources and create a comprehensive, cross-category shopping experience.”
The number of gift and home décor resources presented at Las Vegas Market will grow significantly from the winter 2013 event, IMC asserted, with more than 1,150 new-to-market lines presented in half-a-million square feet of additional showroom space. More than 40 high-profile gift and home décor brands have expanded or opened new permanent showrooms for summer 2013 market, IMC added.
Scott Eckman, IMC chief marketing and strategy officer, pointed out, “We expect the major increase in home décor and gift registration, and web activity to result in a significant increase in year-over-year attendance for the Summer Las Vegas Market. Some 60% of the home décor buyers who attend this market also shop for furniture and 41% shop for furniture, home décor, and gift, so the surge in gift and home décor interest will benefit the overall growth of Las Vegas Market and generate valuable crossover traffic for our furniture showrooms. In addition to these new home décor and gift buyers, 90% of the top 100 retailers with distribution west of the Mississippi— many of which shop across categories— have registered for market.”
The event runs from July 29 to August 2, at World Market Center Las Vegas.
