Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores, Inc. has announced the election of James Gooch to its board of directors. Among his duties on the board, the company said, he will serve as chair of the audit committee.
In his career, Gooch has served as president and CEO of RadioShack Corp. as well as, previously, as the retailer’s CFO, the company added. He has held positions at Helene Curtis, The Quaker Oats Co., Kmart Corp., and Sears Holdings, Inc. Gooch is a certified public accountant.
“We are delighted to add Jim Gooch’s strong financial, analytical, and retail skills to our board of directors and audit committee,” said William Harker, Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores board chairman. “His extensive experience, knowledge and understanding of retail and consumer-product businesses will help us accelerate our growth.”
Gooch’s election to the board increases the number of directors to seven, the company noted.
