Haier America has introduced the AC SmartSelector as an app and feature on its website. The program allows consumers to customize their search for an air conditioner to help them find the most effective and energy-efficient appliance, according to the company.
“Buying an air conditioner is no longer just about BTUs,” said Tom Kelly, vice president of Haier’s Air Conditioning Group. “And the most common mistake people make when buying an air conditioner is believing that a bigger air conditioning unit means a cooler room, which isn’t always the case and results in wasted energy and money.”
The AC SmartSelector allows consumers to find an air conditioner by focusing on room size, installation, window size, a heat and/or cool option and outlet capability. The majority of Haier room air conditioning units are Energy Star qualified and the company also offers a line of portable air conditioners.
“By introducing the AC SmartSelector, we are taking another step in our commitment to conserving energy,” said Kelly. “The AC SmartSelector is a simple path to cool air, a reduced carbon footprint and a cost savings.”
