PMI has expanded its Sustain line at the Home + Housewares Show. In addition to water bottles made with the company’s proprietary ecycle material, the Sustain line will now offer snack container sets and salad kits.

All products in the Sustain line are made from eCycle, a 100% recycled plastic. Ecycle is unique, however, because it is made from 25% post-consumer recycled plastic and 75% pre-consumer recycled plastic.

The snack containers come in sets of four and the salad kits include a crisper with venting at the bottom to keep lettuce crisp, along with compartments for additional veggies and a container for dressing.

In addition to the new food storage introductions, Aladdin is working in conjunction with the REI (Recreation Equipment Industry) to recover polycarbonate water bottles and recycle those into drink containers that have polycarbonate shells and eCycle interiors. Polycarbonate has come under scrutiny because it contains bisphenol-A (BPA). The new Aladdin polycarbonate/eCycle water bottles are designed so that the polycarbonate used does not have any contact with the water or food within the containers.
