Five participants in the New York International Gift Fair's "SustainAbility: design for a better world" display at the summer edition of the fair have been designated as achieving the highest level of sustainability for their products, production processes and business practices.

“While all of the 250 products selected for presentation in the SustainAbility exhibit share ‘green’ qualities, these products and producers exemplify comprehensive attention to environmental stewardship, both in terms of material and manufacture," said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and senior vp/George Little Management.

The five SustainAbility honorees:

DBA LLC earned the honor for its DBA 98 Pen, a pen that is 98% biodegradable.

The Green Glass Company offers V'reens verrine glasses using only reclaimed soda bottles and wooden wine barrel slats.

Sea Stones LLC uses stone and wood to create On the Rocks drink chillers that are designed to keep beverages cool without diluting them.

Jonathan's Spoons presents Flame-Blackened Folding Salad Tongs that feature FSC-certified cherry wood whose appearance comes naturally from flame blackening, eliminating the need for toxic stain or finishes.

Reeves International features a connector system joining pieces of recycled fabric, cardboard and other material together to form new play objects or structures.
