L.A. Mart in Los Angeles has named Frank Joens senior vp, general manager. After a short tenure elsewhere, he returns to the organization where he began in 2001 as director of marketing.
Two years later, he was promoted to director of leasing, where he helped his team achieve an over 90% showroom occupancy rate, according to a press statement. In 2004, he initiated and managed the opening of a temporary venue on the building’s second floor. He was promoted to vp/leasing in 2007 and, in mid-2009, he took over the newly acquired California Gift Show as vp/sales.
“Frank is a highly creative individual who brings the leadership and experience needed to accelerate the on-going growth of the Gift + Home Market and our company’s efforts further distinguish L.A. Mart as a unique resource for the retail and design communities,” said Ara Tavitian, president, PHR L.A. Mart.
Said Joens, “I am thrilled to come ‘home’ to this group of showrooms because I will be renewing so many meaningful relationships that were created during a decade of building trust and working together as a team. The new owners of L.A. Mart have a clear and compelling vision for success as they continue to provide a highly service-oriented business model while developing a strategic plan to support the growth of their current and future tenants, and our must-shop marketplace.”
