Libbey Inc.’s CEO, Stephanie Streeter garnered a Gold Stevie Award in the Executive of the Year category at the 11th Annual American Business Awards held recently at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park Hotel. Streeter’s leadership and direction since joining Libbey Inc. in August 2011 prompted her nomination in the Executive of the Year category, the company noted.
Under her leadership, Libbey is focusing on an operational development plan to reduce costs and boost efficiency across the company, reinforce its leadership position in key segments and strategically accelerate growth in specific markets, the company announced.
On an annual basis, Libbey delivered four strong quarters, realizing records in sales, income from operations and adjusted EBITDA. For the full year 2012, sales were $825.3 million compared to $817.1 million for 2011, and income from operations grew 28.1%, while adjusted EBITDA increased 17.1% to a record $132.4 million versus in 2011.
For this year’s American Business Awards, more than 3,200 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration in a wide range of categories.
“This year’s American Business Awards was outsized in every way,” said Michael Gallagher, Stevie Awards founder and president. “More entries and more judges than ever before, and I’d have to say the most impressive collection of nominations we’ve ever received. We congratulate all of this year’s Stevie winners for their outstanding work.”
in other Libbey news, Streeter was chosen, along with Libbey’s chief financial officer, Sherry Buck, to ring the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange on June 18 to celebrate the company’s original listing on the NYSE exactly 20 years ago to date and its 125th anniversary of continuous production at its Toledo, OH manufacturing facility.
