Marcus Samuelsson With His Namesake Cookware

Today, Macy's announced an exclusive collaboration with its Culinary Council chef Marcus Samuelsson on a cookware collection that celebrates the original influences that enliven food culture in the United States. So, the professional and versatile cookware pieces have been designed with ethnic cooking in mind, Macy’s stated.

Born in Ethiopia and raised in Sweden, Samuelsson spent his adult years living and cooking in the U.S., Macy’s noted, where he was inspired by the country's eclectic cuisine based on traditional foods from countless immigrant groups. The Marcus Samuelsson American Table for Belgique collection will launch in September exclusively at Macy's stores and on macys.com.

The collection is an extension of Macy's exclusive Belgique cookware line and features cast aluminum fabrication. The nonstick interior ensures easy cleanup, and large, riveted, stainless steel handles add strength and stability, the retailer maintained. The 10-piece Marcus Samuelsson American Table cookware set includes a 2-quart and a 3-quart covered saucepan, an 8-quart covered stockpot with coordinating steamer insert, an 8-inch and 10-inch fry pan, and silicone trivet. Also available are a 4-quart Dutch oven, a 4-quart sauteuse and an 8-inch fry pan.

Essential cookware pieces complement the cast aluminum items, Macy’s stated, characterizing them as thoughtfully designed with ethnic cooking in mind. Curved sides incorporated in their design make the products ideal for stir-frying and sautéing, the retailer added. A carbon steel wok heats quickly and evenly and provides a side helper handle for easy lifting. A 12-inch restaurant-style fry pan can go from stove-top to oven and includes a heat-resistant removable silicone sleeve. An 11-inch cast iron grill pan has a ridge that lifts food above fat for healthier cooking while its durable finish eliminates the need to season the pan, Macy’s related. The Marcus Samuelsson American Table for Belgique collection ranges in price from $59.99 to $429.99.

"Marcus Samuelsson is one of the most innovative and recognizable chefs in the industry, with unparalleled culinary knowledge and a deep passion for cooking that continues to inspire our customers," said Nancy Slavin, senior vp/marketing for Macy's Private Brands. "Exceptionally designed, the Marcus Samuelsson American Table for Belgique collection offers professional-level cookware that is essential for home cooks who want to create culinary magic in their own kitchens."

Samuelsson said, "Home cooks can use this high-performance, stylish range to create everything from classic American favorites to the flavorful, ethnic dishes that embody our diverse culinary landscape."
