In a move that establishes production of an American icon at home, Trudeau Corp. has announced the launch of its reusable Red Party Cup, taking design inspiration from the disposable icon. The company asserted that the red cup "stands alone as a symbol of sharing great times and fond memories at a variety of social events throughout a lifetime." "We are very enthusiastic and proud to be manufacturing our new reusable Red Party Cup in the U.S.A. in partnership with American workers in a first-class Midwest factory," said Marty Armstrong, executive vp/Trudeau USA. Trudeau's Red Party Cup is featured in a 16-ounce size and is double wall insulated to keep drinks cold and offer hand-held comfort with hot beverages. The cup is also chip-resistant and has a smooth, comfortable drinking lip, according to the company. The cup features a red exterior and white interior, and it is top-rack dishwasher safe. The Red Party Cup is available as a single cup, a four-pack and six-pack. Trudeau also is offering 72-count floor stands and 60-count round bin displays for merchandising at retail. The suggested retail price is $5.99, and the product will be available in August. The new item will be the first product in a complete Party Collection by Trudeau, with the reusable cup becoming available in other colors. Trudeau marketing initiatives for the collection are also in the works and include sports and music licensing efforts as well as event sponsorships, according to the company.
