A new product line from ChiliTechnology is addressing concerns regarding more comfortable sleep by safely regulating bed temperatures. Enabled by a wireless thermostat control, the ChiliPad and ChiliBed use water circulation systems to regulate the temperature of sleeping surfaces in either single or dual zones. The control unit heats or cools tap water to a set temperature and circulates it through the pad or ChiliBed mattress at temperatures between 55 degrees and 110 degrees Fahrenheit in most circumstances, and that, the company stated, without concerns about the effects of magnetic field generation that comes with electric blankets. The dual zone ChiliPad and ChiliBed offer independent controls, permitting couples to set and adjust individual sleep temperatures with the wireless remote control. The entire Chili Technology product line offers pain relief for those suffering from menopause, night sweats, aching muscles, injuries, arthritis, osteoporosis and other health conditions, the company noted. The ChiliPad fits all standard and extra thick mattresses, according to ChiliTechnology. The 200 thread count poly/cotton mattress pad uses soft medical grade silicone tubing to circulate water through the pad. A built in connection tube 48 inches in length connects the pad to the control unit, and the pad itself is machine washable. The ChiliBed mattress includes TempXL memory foam designed to maintain firmness and feel across a broad temperature range generated by a low-voltage appliance that creates the warmth of the electric blanket. The product has no wiring inside or on the surface of the mattress. ChiliTechnology products are energy efficient, the company noted, as the control unit averages less than 80 watts of energy use. The ChiliPad ranges in price from $399 for a single to $999 for the dual-zone king model. ChiliBed mattresses have a price range from $1,699 for a single-zone twin mattress to $3,999 for a dual-zone king size. Tags: Housewares Health & Personal Care Sustainability |
