Williams-Sonoma stores will launch Starbucks’ new deluxe Verismo System 585. Williams-Sonoma, Inc., in announcing the rollout, characterized the product as the first at-home premium single-cup machine that makes Starbucks-quality espresso beverages and brewed coffee with the touch of a button. Consumers can order the deluxe Verismo System 585 or the base model 580 as well as coffee pods starting today at williams-sonoma.com. They can purchase those same items at Williams-Sonoma stores throughout the United States and Canada beginning September 28, the company stated. The deluxe Verismo 585 offered by Williams-Sonoma incorporates features that will make it “the top choice for coffee connoisseurs,” the retailer said including a larger 3.5-liter water tank, custom temperature control and adjustable, programmable beverage size settings. Both models recreate Starbucks signature beverages in less than a minute using a patent-pending high pressure extraction capability, but the 585 model takes the experience to the next level, Williams-Sonoma stated. The Verismo 585 rolls out in two colors, black and silver, with the silver available exclusively at Williams-Sonoma. The Verismo System uses Starbucks espresso, coffee and real milk pods that will be sold at all 259 Williams-Sonoma retail locations to provide convenient access and replenishment. As part of the retail launch, on September 29 and 30, 150 Williams-Sonoma stores in the U.S. will feature Starbucks baristas making complimentary coffee drinks with the Verismo machines, demonstrating to shoppers how easy it is use them. “Much like Starbucks, Williams-Sonoma takes great pride in providing customers with exceptional quality and the latest innovations,” said Richard Harvey, brand president of Williams-Sonoma. “We’re thrilled to be chosen as the first retailer to offer the Verismo 585, a highly innovative coffee system that will bring the Starbucks phenomenon to our customers in the convenience of their homes.”
