Health o meter kitchen scale from Escali

Jarden Consumer Solutions has reached a licensing agreement with Escali Scales to manufacture, market and distribute Health o meter kitchen and food scales to the U.S. market starting late Q3 2012.

“Known as ‘The Doctor’s Scale,’ the Health o meter kitchen and food scales will command instant credibility with health-conscious consumers,” said Theo Prins, president of Escali. “We are very excited to leverage the trust and brand recognition that the Health o meter name represents; there is no doubt it is one of the premier brands in the scale industry today.”

Escali will launch the Health o meter line with five different scales. The initial launch includes a compact multifunction scale, a pocket scale, a glass scale, a stainless steel scale and a diet-tracking scale capable of calculating nutritional information. Suggested retail prices will range from $40 to $70, with more scales planned to launch in Q4 2012.

“This new assortment of kitchen and multifunction scales represents a huge opportunity for the retailer who is already successful with the Health o meter brand in the bath scale market. It provides an opportunity to increase sales by expanding their offering with a proven brand,” said Jane Wegand, vp/sales for Escali.
