Shopko, Inc. has named Mike Bettiga CEO, according to published reports, replacing Paul Jones who recently resigned. Bettiga has been the retailer’s COO. The move is one in a series of recent developments at Shopko, which merged with Pamida earlier this year. Subsequently, Shopko announced plan’s to convert all of its Pamida stores to one of its own formats. After refurbishment, the Pamidas will operate as Shopko Hometown stores. Combined with the Pamida units it is absorbing, Shopko will operate about 350 stores generating about $3 billion in annual sales, the company stated.
