Consumers who purchase an Alessi branded product between November 1 and December 24 can contribute to a project launched by the Crusinallo company: the construction of a family home in the city of Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. For every product sold in every store worldwide, the company will donate one euro to this cause, the company announced. In addition, the website, www.alessiforchildren.org, will enable visitors follow the activities of the charity in detail and to find out about and share other initiatives to help abandoned children. Seven years ago Alessi partnered with Ai.Bi. Amici dei Bambini to support structured initiatives and launch concrete projects to come to the aid of many children and adolescents across the world who are being raised in institutions as they wait to be united with a family, according to a company press release. “At the beginning, philanthropy was just something that we liked doing, something that fit with our family and company culture,” said managing director Michele Alessi. “Over time, it has assumed an increasingly important role also from a strategic point of view, further committing the company to the support of charitable causes. This year we have taken another step forward with the creation of a branded campaign– Alessi for Children– and the launch of a campaign to involve all of our customers, all over the world, in the project.” In association with Alessi, Ai.Bi. in the last seven years has raised over 300,000 euros, benefitting children in the Ukraine, Colombia, Peru, Nepal, Mongolia, Brazil and Italy.
