Office Depot announced today that it has launched an entirely new store experience for customers. The retailer is debuting the new concept store that delivers the refreshed experience in Costa Mesa, CA, at 2300 Harbor Blvd., a location that houses almost 4,500 products from furniture and office supplies to technology, it noted.

The new store replaces one that operated at 2200 Harbor Blvd.

The retailer designed the new store concept to encourage more shopper interaction with products, Office Depot associates and with each other. The new Office Depot store applies what customers told the retailer about how they want to shop. The store concept goes beyond cosmetic changes, the company said, and includes storefront windows featuring graphic overlays that allow people to see inside the store from the sidewalk. It also incorporates a new bluwire store-within-a-store featuring trending technology and mobility products such as iPhone 5 cases, accessories for iPad and MacBook and Beats by Dre headphones. The boutique assortment also includes wireless speakers, Office Depot related, with the vast majority of these products being new to its stores.

In addition, the new Costa Mesa Office Depot features a PC Bar where people can sit down, plug in their laptop or tablet and get busy. A computer rental station, free Wi-Fi throughout the store, a recharge station and no-charge self-serve coffee available weekdays from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. enhance the store experience.

To foster interactivity, touch screen displays throughout the store allow consumers to order any product from OfficeDepot.com if they are unable to find it on store shelves. And, as an added incentive, delivery is free, and not just in Costa Mesa. If they are unable to find what they are looking for while shopping in any Office Depot store, customers can purchase the item online with the assistance of an in-store sales associate and Office Depot will ship it free, the retailer asserted.
