Hunter Fan Appoints Alexander CEO Wednesday March 13th, 2013 - 12:43PM

The Hunter Fan Co. board of directors has announced the appointment of John Alexander as the company's CEO. He replaces Chuck Smith, who will transition to a senior advisory role for the board. Alexander comes to Hunter with general management experience at senior levels with well-known consumer brands, the company stated, and he has led profitable growth both in businesses based in the United States and internationally. He has supervised functions such as new product development, consumer branding, licensing and channel expansion, and has direct experience with various distribution channels and customers, including U.S. home centers, according to Hunter. Alexander spent most of his career at Whirlpool Corp., Hunter pointed out. As vp and general manager of the Whirlpool brand, he grew market share by creating customer loyalty programs, introducing new products and working closely with key customers, his new employer related. As vp/new business development and innovation, he led growth for Gladiator, Commercial Laundry and Whirlpool's licensing business, Hunter noted.
