Griffith Replacing Retiring Everette As Safeway EVP Retail Operations Friday March 15th, 2013 - 12:18PM

Today, Safeway Inc. announced that Bruce Everette is retiring from his position of executive vp/retail operations after a 44-year career with the supermarket operator. Safeway tapped Kelly Griffith, currently president/merchandising, to succeed Everette. In 1968, Everette began his Safeway career as a store clerk in Virginia. Griffith began his career 33 years ago and worked through a range of store management positions. He was assigned to corporate retail operations in 1999 and named vp the following year. Griffith was named president of merchandising in 2010.
