The High Point Market’s Showroom Design Competition is adding a new Fashion Focus Award to the honors it dispenses, including Best of Market and People’s Choice awards. In its fifth year, the Showroom Design Competition affords event exhibitors the opportunity to earn industry-wide recognition for outstanding display concepts and for retailers to get new ideas for their stores, said contest sponsor The High Point Market Authority.
A panel of judges selects the Best of Market Award, which honors the showroom that best exemplifies creative and compelling display. Judges for the upcoming Fall High Point Market are Newell Turner, editor in chief of House Beautiful, Mark McMenamin, senior editor of Interior Design, and interior designer Tobi Fairley.
The judges also will select the winner of the Fashion Focus Award, which goes to the exhibitor that most creatively uses fashion elements in its showroom display. Exhibitors are invited to upload showroom photos on their exhibitor listing page as part of the awards program.
All market participants may vote for the People’s Choice Award. They can chime in for their favorite showroom design via Twitter or text message. Judging criteria is left to individual market attendees. Anyone interested can find complete competition details and rules online at http://www.highpointmarket.org/exhibitor-services/showroom-design-competition.
The High Point Market Authority will reveal the award winners on Monday, October 15, at 8:45 a.m., just before the fall event’s press breakfast. Winning entrants in each category will receive a crystal trophy cup for showroom display.
