Wednesday October 10th, 2012 - 4:34PM

South Shore Furniture has launched operations at its new El Paso distribution center in Texas, the company announced. The El Paso DC will warehouse those products South Shore manufactures in Mexico for distribution in the United States.

The new 51,000 square foot warehouse is located in the industrial park nearby the  international airport and is an important complement to South Shore’s manufacturing facility in Juarez, the company stated. The DC even allows the company to free up space at the plant to increase efficiency and production capacity.

From a logistics standpoint, the El Paso DC is a major asset that helps South Shore keep inventory product in the USA, reduce customs processing time and increase speed of delivery to the customer, the company noted.

”It is a win-win situation which supports our growth strategy,” said Jean Fortin, South Shore vp/supply chain.
