At the WaterSense and Alliance for Water Efficiency awards luncheon held at the sixth annual WaterSmart Innovations Conference and Expo in Las Vegas, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recognized five organizations as 2012 WaterSense Partners of the Year, including Lowe’s, for its promotion of the WaterSense label and its water efficiency efforts.
Lowe’s became a three-time WaterSense Retailer Partner of the Year by supporting and participating in the “Wasting Water Is Weird” campaign to promote water conservation and training their sales associates on water savings and usability of WaterSense labeled products. WaterSense was also a central theme of the Lowe’s Efficient Home marketing campaign.
The WaterSense Partner of the Year awards program recognizes WaterSense partners who help advance the overall mission of WaterSense, increase awareness of the WaterSense brand in a measurable way and demonstrate overall excellence in the water efficiency arena.
In addition, among its Excellence Awards recipients, WaterSense also honored The Home Depot for its employee education efforts.
