To make the most of Black Friday, Macy’s announced that it will throw the doors open at midnight on November 23 so customers can take advantage of discounts offered in every department. The retailer’s stores across the United States will introduce customers to a new mobile app just as Thanksgiving turns into Black Friday, one that can help them browse and shop for specials specific to their local store, Macy's noted.
The retailer plans to offer savings on hundreds of items from luxurious cashmere to remote control electronics to a new exclusive limited-run collection from MAC Cosmetics. Among the specific Black Friday specials are a 40% off deal on all regularly priced coffee makers, tea kettles and espresso brewers, and a $10 rebate on a range of kitchen electrics that includes a panini maker, slow cooker, hot air popcorn maker, deep fryer and quesadilla press.
“Black Friday is a day dedicated to finding the best deals,” said Peter Sachse, Macy’s chief stores officer. “For the first time last year, Macy’s stores nationwide opened at midnight, and our customers loved getting a head start on their holiday shopping. Based on their enthusiastic response, we plan to repeat it again this year. We’ve also created a new tool to help customers plan their shopping strategy with an enhancement to Macy's mobile app that will identify and locate specials throughout each store on Black Friday.”
