With a direct view to Superstorm Sandy's impact, Lifetime Brands, Inc., located in the Long Island community of Garden City, NY, has donated housewares products valued at more than $500,000 to Long Island Cares. The donation of cookware, kitchen tools, dinnerware, flatware and cutlery will aid Long Island residents affected by the storm, the company said.
In addition, Lifetime has conducted an office-wide Sandy Relief collection, generating an extensive amount of food, clothing and supplies that also wll help to support the Long Island Cares Sandy relief efforts.
“Superstorm Sandy has directly impacted our families, friends, neighbors and employees," Jeffrey Siegel, chairman and president of Lifetime Brands, said. “Having seen and experienced the devastation caused by Sandy firsthand, our hearts go out to everyone who has been affected, especially in the communities that are still experiencing hardships today. We hope that our donation will help organizations who are providing meals for others and those individuals in need of replacing kitchen items lost in the storm.”
