Technology Brightening Prospects For Alternative Lighting

Monday December 10th, 2012 - 1:16PM

Technology has the potential to significantly change the lighting business. WAC Lighting is demonstrating ways that may happen.

With a greener product assortment provided today, the company promises to light up an entire kitchen using  less than 100 Watts of energy.

WAC produces LED and Organic LED Luminaires, including a broad line of track, recessed, undercabinet, rail and decorative lighting.  Its new nostalgic Milford Schoolhouse glass pendants use just five Watts of energy and  provide warm illumination that is cool to the touch. Designed classically with clean lines and authentic period appearance, the Milford pendant comes with a milk white glass shade that creates a warm glow. The Milford pendant is part of the Early Electric Collection.

InvisiLED Tape Lights in and under cabinets  can enhance kitchen and other spaces where storage is important, WAC stated. InvisiLED requires just 2 Watts per foot, and provides sophisticated custom accent and display lighting made for the home, the company asserted. The LED tape light system provides rich colors as well as warm white, to satisfy a full range of preferences, and is easy to install, WAC said.

Tesla recessed LED Downlights incorporate bronze trims that accentuates the fine details in custom cabinetry, WAC pointed out. Tesla LED die cast aluminum downlights are Energy Star Qualified and engineered with state of the art high output LED technology for thermal management and optics, the company said, while delivering an equal amount of footcandles using half the fixtures required by halogen counterparts for the same size space.

All WAC energy efficient lighting solutions featured  a  life of 50,000 hours and come with a 5-year warranty, the company noted.
