Today, Browne & Co announced that it has reached a partnership agreement with French cutlery manufacturer Nogent. The deal makes Browne & Co. Nogent cutlery's distributor in the United States.

“Nogent’s reputation for performance and European design complement Browne’s existing brands Cuisipro, Kitchen Grips and Berard,” said Peter Braley, COO of Browne & Co.  “The two companies have complimentary product lines, so this new relationship provides an excellent opportunity to introduce their line to a new consumer base.”

Nogent knives feature beveled blades to provide a high-quality cutting edge that requires less frequent sharpening, according to the company. In addition, Nogent’s Expert collection features exclusive technology that eliminates the need for sharpening through a patented micro-serration process that inscribes the blade with four tiny teeth per millimeter, the company added. The serration is said to be almost invisible to the naked eye and to produce precise surgical slicing.

Nogent was founded in Biesles, France, in 1923, where its cutlery is still manufactured. Nogent knives will be available in the U.S through Browne starting in January of 2013.
