Office Depot Makes Play For Late Holiday Shoppers

Thursday December 13th, 2012 - 1:13PM

As it presses its case as a holiday shopping destination, Office Depot reported that, in a survey conducted for the company, 49% of shoppers admitted to getting at least 16% of their holiday shopping done within 10 days of the holiday. Office Depot is positioning itself to aid last-minute shoppers by setting a designated range of gift and other holiday needs.

From tablets and headphones to personalized photo gifts and festive packing and shipping solutions, last-minute shoppers will have everything they need to find and ship the perfect gifts, in time for the holidays, including the iHome Dual Alarm Clock FM Stereo Radio, and items that incorporate a docking station for Apple devices. Office Depot can find other home-related gifts in a range of fashion-oriented desk accessories under the retailer’s See Jane Work brand.

To bump up its holiday offering, Office Depot is providing free delivery with no minimum purchase on phone/online orders made from now until December 31.

"With endless gift lists and busy schedules, many shoppers find themselves leaving their holiday shopping to the last minute," said Bob Moore, the retailer’s executive vp and chief marketing and merchandising officer.  "At Office Depot, we're here to help you get the perfect gifts fast and be on your merry way, all while saving time and money."
