The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers Canada has appointed Sue Stevenson, vp/general manager of Electrolux Major Appliances, Canada, as chair of AHAM's Canada Council. The council is AHAM Canada's membership body that oversees the association's work in the country.

In this leadership position, Stevenson will also serve as a voting member of AHAM's board of directors.

In addition, AHAM Canada also announced the promotion of Bruce Rebel from director of technical services to vp and general manager of AHAM Canada. Rebel has more than 15 years of regulatory and quality assurance experience in Canada, and several years of experience directly in the appliance industry.

AHAM president Joe McGuire said, "AHAM Canada has increased the appliance industry's visibility with Canadian policy makers and stakeholders and the addition of Sue Stevenson and Bruce Rebel to our volunteer and staff leadership team will take us to new heights. The Canada Council now includes fifty appliance manufacturing companies and is growing."
