Haiku Makes Minimalist Case For More Efficient Ceiling Fans

Monday March 18th, 2013 - 11:31AM

The Haiku ceiling fan from Big Ass Fans lights up rooms more effectively with a shift in technology. A new, patent-pending LED light module integrated with the fan’s already minimalist design, the company said, is brightening the product’s prospects.

The energy-efficient LED module reinforces Haiku’s No. 1 Energy Star ranking. The LEDs in use are 80% more efficient than incandescent bulbs and offer a lifespan of 50,000 hours, or about 17 years of standard use, the company said.

The LED module offers a digital dimmer that has 16 increments of brightness to provide light for any setting. At its brightest, the LED module provides the equivalent brightness of a 100-watt light bulb while consuming only 20 watts worth of energy. To customize appearances, translucent and smoky lenses are provided with every fan.
