Bar stools continue to be a hot category in mass-market furniture, as evidence at the Summer Las Vegas Market demonstrates. Powell, for example, expanded its line of stools for big and tall consumers adding wood items to the collection.
The high-capacity stools can accommodate users up to 400 pounds, but they were only part of Powell’s initiative to update and expand its product range in the segment, one it sees as continuing to draw consumers.
Other vendors continue to add stools as well, seeing them as casual furniture for today’s consumer, one who is entertaining at home more and who may want to use space more efficiently. LumiSource expanded and updated its stool collections as well. It didn’t stop there, however, seeing an opportunity to build off the popularity of stools by adding a collection of small-scale bars in a range of configurations and styles.
For its part, Linon added a back to its popular metal stacking stool and introduced more items that are height adjustable, which makes them compatible with bars or counters. Office Star products also has made a foray into stools as it diversifies its product line up including metal stool introductions and larger-scale wood and bonded leather stools with metal footrests in the Inspired by Bassett line.
The market, at the World Market Center Las Vegas, ends Friday.
