The Brazen brewer

Boyd's Coffee today announced an exclusive wholesale distribution partnership with Brazen by Behmor for the company’s home coffee brewer that uses technology previously only available in commercial brewers. A patent-pending feature on the brewer allows temperature calibrations with altitude correction for greater accuracy enabling coffee drinkers in higher elevations to program their exact altitude during initial set up. The Brazen won the "People's Choice Award" for Best New Product at the 2012 Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) trade show. The brewer was also called "maybe the best dripped coffee from a machine" from the national design and technology blog, Gizmodo.

"The Brazen is the only coffee brewer that combines modern electronics and controls with a new water delivery system to give users the ability to brew a cup of coffee with the superior taste profile of a manual pour over," said Brazen inventor Joseph Behm. "Not all coffees should be brewed at the same temperature, and that is why I developed a variable temperature coffee brewer."

The brewers key features including variable temperature (190°-210° Fahrenheit in 1° F increments); on-board system temperature calibrations with altitude correction (patent pending); power-controlled temperature glide; full-saturation water-dispersion spray head; pre-soak function with user-controlled time setting; stainless steel water reservoir; insulated stainless steel carafe; manual water release feature with auto-timer; and memory (on board) to store system settings.

"When we met Joe at the SCAA show, we were impressed with the Brazen's innovative features that allow coffee drinkers to customize each cup of coffee," said Michael Boyd, buyer for Boyd's Coffee, the US/Canadian wholesale distributor of Brazen brewers. "Boyd's has always been known for innovation in brewing equipment, and we will continue to look for leading-edge products to support."
