Sixteen companies, representing a range of design-oriented product categories, have been accepted into Accent on Design for the winter 2014 edition of NY Now, the Market for Home + Lifestyle (formerly NYIGF). Accent on Design, a juried collection of 150 contemporary and innovative product suppliers, is one of three sections within the NY Now’s Home Collection. NY Now runs Sunday, February 2, through Thursday, February 6, 2014, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
“New companies like the 16 that have been accepted by the independent selection committee to join Accent on Design, bring an influx of fresh, new innovative, design-oriented resources to NY Now,” said Jaime Sikorjak, Accent on Design sales manager. “These newcomers to Accent on Design include products designed and made in the U.S.A., as well as several global sources.”
From the 150 applications received, 16 were accepted as Accent on Design exhibitors.
Included in the new Accent on Design exhibitors are housewares companies: Craft Advisory (handcrafted tabletop); Finell Co. (home furnishings); Grey Area (home furnishings and accessories); Grain (home furnishings and accessories); Haptic Lab (handmade textiles); Mirena Kim Ceramics (handcrafted tabletop); ovo.sono.ei (tabletop and accessories); Tom Dixon (home furnishings); and Yield Design Co. (home furnishings and accessories). In addition, Euroblade, a cutlery company, will return to Accent on Design this year.
The design incubating A+: The Young Designers’ Platform at Accent on Design also will return to the winter market, introducing the work of emerging designers selected on the basis of design concept, creativity and originality.
