William Cho, a 26-year veteran of LG Electronics, has been named president of LG Electronics USA. He succeeds Wayne Park, who has been promoted to global sales and marketing officer, LG Electronics.
Cho, most recently the senior executive responsible for LG's global residential air conditioning business for the past two years, has extensive management experience across all business units around the world, the company noted. He served as president of LG Australia and president of LG Canada, as well as held key sales roles in the United States, among his various positions over the years. He joined LG in 1987.
In addition to overall responsibility for LG Electronics activities across all business units in the United States, Cho will lead the LG Electronics USA home entertainment business. In this role, he succeeds Jay Vandenbree, who is retiring at year-end. Vandenbree will provide ongoing support in an advisory capacity to LG Electronics USA through the first quarter of 2014.
Park, meanwhile, assumes the new global sales and marketing officer position after serving since January 2011 as president of LG Electronics USA, leading the company's growth in the United States. Previously, he led sales and marketing for LG Electronics in the Korean market.
