Trend Experts To Host Seminars At IH+HS

Attendees at the International Home + Housewares Show are invited to attend a variety of seminars presented by industry trend experts whose ideas influence what consumers see on store shelves months and even years later.

Presenting these sessions, which are held in the Grand Ballroom/S100 of South Building will be Michelle Schumaker, Home Goods Branding Lead at Goodle, Inc.; leading color forecaster Leatrice Eiseman, execuive director of the Pantone Color Institute; and Tom Mirabie, svp, global trend and design at Lifetime Brands, Inc., who offers his vision for the top consumer trends of 2014.

"Rethinking the Shopper's Path to Purchase," a seminar about how technology has changed consumers' shopping behavior and how to reach them before the shelf, will take place at noon Sunday, March 16. Michelle Schumaker will present Google search data and the results of a new custom consumer housewares research study that will help attendees better understand the new technology-driven path to purchase, and build targeted marketing strategies to own the new "digital shelf."

"Top Trends of 2014 - The New Normal: How to Survive and Thrive in Our Erratic Marketplace," will be presented by Tom Mirabile at 7:30am Monday, March 17. The presentation will cover topics from how to attract the new homeowner and engage existing homeowners to technology's influence on the future of housewares.

Also on Monday, Lee Eiseman will present "New Harmonies: Changing Themes in Color/Design Trends" at noon. The seminar will cover color trends in home interiors and lifestyle patterns and tastes that are causing fast changes in the industry.

On Tuesday, March 18, both Eiseman and Mirabile will come together to discuss the changing realities of today's consumer and the essential role of color in both serving and connecting with them. The presentation, "Engaging the Consumer: Facts vs. Fictions in Lifestyle and Color," will offer explanations on how retailers and suppliers can take advantage the changing consumer preferences in colors and styles.
