Columbian Home Products announced that it completed the acquisition of the assets of kitchenware company M.E. Heuck on April 1.
M.E. Heuck markets a broad line of seasonal and specialty kitchen tools and accessories that compliment Columbian's Granite Ware brands of roasters, seafood and other specialty cookware, the company said. Heuck is also a leading supplier of private label and branded stainless steel, nonstick and cast iron kitchenware.
In addition to its Granite Ware line of porcelain coated cookware and bakeware, Columbian Home Products also produces cutting boards under its Snow River brand, Asian cooking products under the Joyce Chen brand and other ethnic cooking and kitchenware products.
The union of the combined brands, Granite Ware, Joyce Chen, Snow River, Grand Epicure and now M.E. Heuck provides all retail channels with a single resource for their specialty kitchenware programs, the company said.
The company anticipates that a merging of the production and distribution facilities into CHP's 600,000-square-foot facility in Terre Haute, IN, will be completed by the end of the second quarter 2014. The company also announced that Heuck's key personnel, President Chris McCarthy; Vice President of Global Supply Chain Subarao Sunkara; and Vice President of Sales Pat Dales will be joining the Columbian Home Products organization.
M.E. Heuck was formerly part of the Malhotra Group, one of the largest minority-owned companies in Greater Cincinnati, owned by Ramesh Malhotra. It was founded in 1922 and started with the company's Heuck Turkey Lacers.
According to the Cincinnati Business Courier, M. E. Heuck revenue's were at roughly $24 million when the company was sold.
