The Golden Goose, a gadget that has to date been successfully backed three times over by a Kickstarter fundraising effort that is 13 days to closing, allows users to scramble eggs in the shell. A hand-powered gadget, the Golden Goose has received media attention from outlets such as NPR that highlight its innovation and ability to put a new twist on a classic cooking method.

According to the company's Kickstarter campaign, the Golden Goose is a low-tech, hand-powered gadget that has been designed to smoothly scramble the contents of a shelled egg in under 15 seconds. The device uses centrifugal force to scramble an egg without breaking the shell.

It works by alternating the rotation of an egg back and forth, the company said. This mixes the white and yolk inside the egg-shell without introducing outside air.

According to an NPR interview with Golden Goose creator Geraint Krumpe, the plan is to manufacture the devices for the donors of the Kickstarter fund this summer, and then take Golden Goose directly to consumers. Krumpe said Golden Goose will retail for around $24, with availability planned for the November timeframe.
