Peugeot's Tokyo Mill With A Matte Grey Finish.

Peugeot is introducing two new mills inspired by current tabletop trends of Asian design and an appreciation of natural beauty, the company said. The new introductions are the Tokyo and Tokyo Opale mills.

Designed to have harmonious and balanced style, the long bodies and angular heads of the mill are reminiscent of origami, the traditional Japanese art of paper folding.

The Tokyo Mills feature natural beechwood bodies with lacquered heads in either a matte grey or white finish. The Tokyo Opale Mills feature painted wood bodies with a opale finish in subtle, subdued shades of light or medium blue, combined with natural wood heads.

Constructed with low, flat tops, the design is simple with a distinctive flair, the company said. A round knob made of brushed nickel plated brass, marked "S" or "P" completes the look.

The Tokyo and Tokyo Opale Mills are made in France from PEFC-certified beechwood from sustainably managed forests in France. The painted tops receive two coats of lacquer, the company said.

The fully adjustable grinding mechanism features precision adjustments and a consistent high-output grind, the company said.  Each of these mills features an ingredient-specific mechanism designed for either pepper or salt and the company offers a lifetime warranty on all mechanisms.

Sold open stock, the mills can be mixed and matched.  All styles are available in 6 1/4- and 9 1/2- inch sizes. Both Tokyo designs are available for salt or pepper.  The Tokyo Opale collection offers salt mills with light blue bodies and pepper mills with medium blue bodies.

The Tokyo and Tokyo Opale Mills have a suggested retail price of $40 for the 6 1/4 inch and $50 for the 9 1/2 inch.  The Tokyo Mill is available for immediate shipment and the Tokyo Opale Mill will ship in Summer 2014.
