PureHome.com Plays The Match Game Hooking Up Decor, Shoppers

As e-commerce competition becomes more intense, online retailers are developing more unique operational variations, so PureHome.com is setting itself to be the Match.com of Internet-based furnishings sales. The concept is to match consumer style with an online home décor marketplace that can satisfy personal fashion preferences.

Pure Home’s contextual search engine can recommend products based on a user's taste, color and style preferences. PureHome.com curates thousands of products across hundreds of brands, assigning 42 data points to each, then recommending items to consumers based on related taste, color and style preferences, the company maintained.

The search engine provides unique solutions to the common, stressful challenges consumer face when decorating their homes including selecting paint colors, furnishings and home accents. The site provides simple-to-operate tools such as Vibes, which helps consumers make confident purchasing decisions by style grouping— such as industrial, contemporary or midcentury modern— among more than 25,000 unique, high-quality and hand-curated home décor and housewares products, according to PureHome.com. It also offers Design Space, which allows the consumer to bring their favorite PureHome.com paint swatches, design elements and furniture pieces together on a storyboard then employ a match function to ensure selections complement one another. The PureHome.com site also assembles seasonal assortments for shoppers. 

PureHome.com related that it works with more than 400 mid- to high-end vendors, with many products offered, ranging from sofas to jewelry storage, available online only from Pure Home.

Entrepreneur Barry Abraham, PureHome.com president and CEO, and a veteran of four startup businesses, founded the company. His experience also includes working with Nordstrom.com, the company stated. He began the process of launching PureHome.com in 2011 originally focusing on helping consumers matching paint colors to their home decor environments, existing and proposed, expanding purpose and product offering to what exists today.
