IMUSA USA President Manny Gaunaurd is retiring from the company effective May 30. Raul Corzo, currently vp of the company, will take the helm as president, effective June 1, the two told HOMEWORLD BUSINESS® in an exclusive interview. Gaunaurd and Corzo have been with IMUSA USA since its inception.

With Corzo as president, IMUSA USA will continue to operate independently from Groupe SEB, its parent company, according to Gaunaurd and Corzo. Groupe SEB acquired IMUSA in 2011.

As president, Corzo, whose responsibilities included overseeing operations, finance and sales in his vp role, will focus on growing the IMUSA and Global Kitchen brands along with overseeing customer relations and sales, he said.

Gaunaurd said his next endeavors include consulting with businesses to help them understand the Hispanic consumer product market as well as continuing his work with Autism Speaks, helping the organization develop partnerships with companies across the U.S. to raise money for autism research. “One in 68 children is diagnosed with autism,” Gaunaurd said. “I'm diving back in to help the organization further generate awareness.”

Other executive changes include new directors to oversee finance and operations. Mike Ayala has been named director/finance and Ram Chandrasekhar is the new director/operations. The company has also named a new director/sales, Juan Felipe Pineda. The new directors are veterans in their fields, Corzo and Gaunaurd noted.
