Chef’n Corp. has announced that it hired Karl Mejia as director/marketing. Mejia’s task in his new role is to create a global roadmap for growth, overseeing P&L and managing Chef’n’s multi-brand product portfolio, the company stated.
Mejia also is charged with ensuring the company’s product portfolio suits corporate growth objectives, Chef’n noted, adding that he will play a critical part in identifying new product and service opportunities for the vendor.
“Already, Karl has helped focus our R&D, bringing his fresh perspective, which is essential to keep the business growing,” David Holcomb, Chef’n’s CEO, said.
Another responsibility Mejia undertakes is managing and mentoring the marketing team. As director, he will be involved in the planning, execution and coordination of all consumer marketing efforts including packaging design, digital outreach, consumer promotions, advertising, public relations and retail consumer marketing. One of his first initiatives has been to put more focus on consumers.
“We expect Karl to excel at business development with our partners,” said Linda Graebner, Chef’n’s executive chairman, “by using his knowledge of the food industry to educate and focus our internal processes. ”
Mejia brings extensive experience from the consumer packaged goods industry. He has significant multi-channel experience with a deep understanding of shopper behavior, as well as a strong understanding of new product development processes. Chef’n expects Mejia to be critical in future product launches.
