New Loyalty Program Offers Office Depot Customers Flexibility

Office Depot, Inc. has introduced a new rewards program that provides improved customer freedom, flexibility and savings, it asserted. As now constituted, Office Depot Rewards offers a variety of ways for customers to earn and maximize points, according to the retailer.

Beginning July 1, Office Depot customers can sign up for the membership type best suited to their purchasing: Local Businesses, Loyal Customers or Star Teachers. Once in the appropriate program, members receive personalized offers tailored for them, the retailer noted.

Members receive rewards certificates for every 1,000 points they earn, with multiple ways to accumulate credit including shopping, sharing information with the retailer and recycling ink and toner cartridges. Office Depot also pointed out that it offers a Choice Members program for those spending $200 or more in a quarter, one that provides additional discounts.

“After analyzing several reward programs and listening to our shoppers, we wanted to develop a customer-centric program that gives members the flexibility to personalize their rewards,” said Bob Moore, Office Depot executive vp and chief marketing and merchandising officer. “Office Depot Rewards is designed to offer shoppers more ways to earn points that reward them in ways that matter most to them.”
