The New York International Gift Fair’s three-year reorganization will reach its culmination with the August market, and with it, a rebranding of the show to “NY Now, the Market for Home & Lifestyle.” The market will also pull products into four new comprehensive market collections at the Jacob Javits Center: Home, Lifestyle, Handmade and New!
“The repositioning of related resources not only will reinforce the depth and breadth of resources in the New York market, but also will better reflect the way retailers are shopping and sourcing today,” said Christian Falkenberg, NYIGF director and vp/GLM.
“NY Now will serve as a great ‘umbrella’ brand for the market,” added Falkenberg. “It is an all encompassing name that is reflective of the fair’s more than 400 gift, home and lifestyle product categories. It will solidify our position as a world-leading home and lifestyle market.”
NY Now’s more than 2800 exhibitors will be repositioned into four broad market collections, rather than in the 10 NYIGF divisions which had been categorized by product category or aesthetic.
Home, which will be featured on level 3, will feature Home Furnishings + Textiles, Tabletop + Gourmet Housewares, and Accent on Design. NY Now will nix the Gourmet Housewares Show moniker, as it will remain a consistent category, he said. Textiles had previously been featured in Level 1, and any home vendors previously exhibiting at Pier 94 will relocate to Javits Level 3.
“Handmade” will be featured with Global Design on Level 4, and Designer Maker on Level 2. The Lifestyle collection will be featured on Level 1, and will include Gift + Stationery, Baby + Child, Personal Care + Wellness, and Personal Accessories.
The “New!” collection will be shown at Pier 94 in August, and will include New York’s Newest and Artisan Resource. Pier 92 will not be utilized for the August show.
