Williams-Sonoma, Inc. banner PBteen will open its first store in southern California, at The Oaks Mall in Thousand Oaks on Saturday, June 1 at 10 a.m., the retailer has announced. The first 250 store visitors on opening day will receive a free gift and a chance to win one of four $250 gift cards.
D.J. Alex Hegewald will spin live in the store on opening day to add the soundtrack to the store debut, Williams-Sonoma reported. At its opening, the Thousand Oaks store will feature the new PBteen gear collection as a starting point for tweens and teens looking to get an early back-to-school shopping start. PBteen will showcase a colorful gear assortment of backpacks, messenger bags, lunch totes and accessories at the store, Williams-Sonoma noted, adding that it also will highlight the 2013 PBdorm collection including XL twin sheets, task lighting, storage solutions and decorative accessories.
A PBteen Design Lab anchors the store, giving teens and their parents a chance to engage with the brand and its products by creating a personalized digital room, Williams-Sonoma related. Using drag and drop technology, teens can experiment with different room configurations and color combinations, and quickly see them come to life on a television screen overhead. Onsite design specialists can help teens choose their favorite patterns and styles as they create distinct bedrooms and lounge spaces, the retailer explained. In addition, shoppers can order products available on the PBteen.com at the store for home shipment.
“We are excited to open the first PBteen store in southern California and to complete our family of Pottery Barn brands in this region,” said Sandra Stangl, president, Pottery Barn Brands. “We have many loyal customers in the Los Angeles area and are thrilled to bring them PBteen’s personal in-store experience just in time for back-to-school shopping.”
